internal growth + external stagnation

the part of working toward growth that no one tells you about, is how long it takes for your external life to mirror your internal one.

once you start to do the work, things naturally must fully unravel in order to get re-built and come back together, which often takes a significant amount of time & energy. this is called growth.

by definition, mental growth is:

the continuous process of developing and maturing cognitive functions, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness

for most people, there is often a standout event, or feeling that kickstarts ones “healing era” or journey back to their selves. it is never the same for two people, but there are similarities & patterns that connect us all more than we consider.

the discomfort begins when one becomes so obsessed with physical results. SEEING change, instead of feeling it. internal growth rarely immediately shows in your day-to-day life. getting comfortable with the in between stages, is where your journey truly begins.

so next time you are feeling down about your growth journey, remind yourself, you must fully unravel to become whole again.
